Entryway coat and shoe rack for the hallway that has to hold a whole household's outdoor kit within arm's reach of the door. Jackets, hats, bags and umbrellas go on the hooks and shoes go at the base, so the arrival routine finishes at one piece of furniture instead of spreading across the floor. It suits family homes and shared flats with no cloakroom or utility room.
The stand measures 80 x 28 x 175cm, tall enough for long coats to hang clear of the ground and only 28cm deep, so it does not narrow a corridor. Double-row hooks nearly double the hanging points on the same frame, and the hook edges are finished smooth so a coat lifted off in a hurry is not snagged or scratched. Construction uses a plastic frame with polyester fabric elements.
Stand it immediately inside a front or back door, in a porch, or on a landing where a wardrobe would never fit.
