Wooden nightstand cabinet for a second bedroom, a dorm room or a guest room that is furnished a piece at a time rather than as a set. It gives a bed the bedside surface it needs for a lamp and a glass of water, with a closed compartment below for the spare charger, the reading glasses and the paperback that would otherwise sit on the floor. In a guest room it also gives visitors somewhere to put their own things down.
The carcass is wooden, assembled from flat pack on arrival, and finished plainly enough to sit alongside furniture you already own without needing to match it. There are no castors on the base, so the cabinet holds its position against the bed frame instead of creeping away every time the compartment is opened. Its simple rectangular shape also means it can be turned to face either way in a room with an awkward layout.

It is light enough to move between rooms as needs change and small enough to fit a bedside slot you have not measured, and it works just as well as a lamp table beside a reading chair.
