Desk organizer with drawers for a tabletop that has to serve as both workspace and dressing table. The drawers take the pens, cables, brushes and small tubes that otherwise spread across the surface, and the top stays free for a laptop, a mirror or a lamp. A shallow desk gains the most, since the unit borrows height rather than the depth it does not have.
Built from solid wood, the cabinet expands in length from 10 to 20 inches so it can be set to the exact run of desk available rather than forced into a fixed footprint. The timber carcass gives the unit enough mass that it stays in place when a drawer is pulled quickly, instead of sliding along the desk. Wood also takes the marks of daily use better than a moulded finish, which tends to scratch visibly.
Use it in a home office for stationery and chargers, on a vanity for makeup and skincare, or on a hallway console for keys and post. Everstock made it for rooms that have to do several jobs, where furniture that only suits one of them is furniture that gets moved out within a month. The drawers run on simple runners, so there is nothing to service or realign over time.
