Desktop pen holder in acrylic, for the desk that needs storage without another opaque block taking up space on it. Pens, pencils, scissors and rulers stand upright and stay countable, so a missing pair of scissors is obvious rather than assumed. It works for a home office, a study desk, and a retail or reception counter where the same few items are picked up and put back dozens of times a day.
Acrylic is rigid and holds a clean edge, so the cup keeps its shape under daily knocks rather than deforming like thin flexible plastic. The material does not absorb ink or moisture, which means a leaking pen or a damp brush leaves nothing behind once the interior is wiped out. A straight-walled well lets the contents be tipped out in one motion when it is time to clear and clean it properly.
On a home office desk it sits beside a monitor within arm's reach; on a study desk it takes a full school pencil set; behind a shop counter it keeps the signing pens where staff and customers can both see them. Its plain form means it suits a desk with an existing colour scheme rather than imposing one, and it can be moved room to room without looking out of place.
