Heavy duty shelf brackets sold in pairs, for anyone fitting a shelf that has to carry real weight: books, tools, crockery or a run of storage boxes. They turn a plain wood board into fixed shelving, which is usually stronger and cheaper than a finished shelf unit of the same span. The exposed L-angle is a deliberate industrial look rather than something to hide.
Each bracket is crafted from heavy-duty alloy steel with a thickened L-shaped profile, so it resists bending under load instead of drooping slowly at the outer edge the way thin pressed brackets do. Three sizes are made: 8 inch at 200 x 150 x 32mm, 10 inch at 250 x 200 x 32mm and 12 inch at 300 x 250 x 32mm, given as length by width by thickness, so the bracket can be matched to the depth of board it supports.
They suit living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, garages and workshops, indoors or outdoors, and work equally well on a DIY build such as a bench top, a plant stand or a wall-fixed console. Fitted on open brickwork or above a workbench they look intentional rather than like hardware that should have been hidden behind a facia.
