Storage ottoman bench for the end of a bed or an entryway wall, where seating is needed and the blankets, pillows or shoes have nowhere else to go. The lid is the seat, so the whole footprint does two jobs, and the interior is deep enough for bedding rather than just the odd cushion. Rated to 300lb, it takes two people sitting down at once without complaint.
Cotton and boucle upholstery covers a solid and engineered wood carcass, and the teddy-textured fabric holds its shape rather than flattening in the spot that gets sat on most. The lid runs on safety pressure hinges, which hold it open while hands are inside and stop it dropping shut on them. A gold-finished metal frame lifts the body off the floor, leaving clearance to sweep or vacuum underneath.
It works at the foot of a bed for spare bedding, in an entryway for shoes and bags, or along a living room wall as extra seating that absorbs the throws and magazines. Everstock chose the raised metal base because a bench sitting flat on carpet is the piece nobody ever moves to clean behind. Assembly is required, with a tool kit, the connecting parts and a manual included.
