Folding shoe rack stand for anyone who would rather not spend an evening with an allen key and a diagram. It arrives built: the frame unfolds, the shelves drop into place, and shoes go on within a minute of opening the box. That makes it a sensible choice for a rental, a student room, or a house move where furniture needs to be usable the same day it arrives.
The shelves and frame are wood, jointed so the layers stay parallel when the stand is opened out and lock against each other under load. A 3-layer configuration covers the usual household run of everyday shoes. Because the hinge action is the only moving part, there are no fixings to loosen over time and nothing to retighten after a few months of daily use.
It belongs just inside a front door, along the side of a hallway, or in a bedroom for the pairs in current rotation. Folded shut, it slides behind a door or into the gap beside a wardrobe, so it can be brought out for a full house and put away again afterwards. The open shelves let damp shoes dry rather than trapping moisture against the wood, and the whole stand lifts with one hand when the hallway floor needs sweeping.
