Felt storage basket for the loose sundries a living room generates through a week: remote controls, cables, magazines, throws and the toys that migrate out of the children's room by Wednesday. It is soft-sided rather than rigid, so it holds a shape when full and slumps out of the way when empty. A basket that can simply be filled is the one that actually gets used at the end of a day.
The body is high-quality felt, a dense non-woven fabric that resists tearing at the rim where a basket is repeatedly lifted, and it stays quiet and scuff-free against a wall or a wooden floor. The large size measures 23 x 23 x 26 cm, and the range runs in small, medium and large so a set can cover different jobs in the same room. Each order includes one basket, and sizes are hand measured, so allow a tolerance of around one centimetre.
Stand it beside a sofa for blankets, in a bedroom for socks and laundry, or in a nursery for soft toys. Everstock chose the Nordic felt finish so it can be left out in a living room rather than hidden in a cupboard. As with any soft-sided container, keep it clear of a cot and supervise young children playing near it.
