Linen storage ottoman that keeps a footrest, a seat and a storage box in one piece of furniture instead of three. The lid comes off to a box underneath, sized for throws, magazines, scarves or the shoes that otherwise collect by the door. It is the kind of item bought for one job that ends up doing whichever one the room needs that month.
A wood frame gives the body its shape, so the sides stay square when the box is half empty rather than sagging the way an unframed fabric cube does. The linen-look outer is soft enough to rest feet on without a cushion and textured enough to hide the marks a plain flat fabric would show. The lid sits flush on the frame, which is what lets it be sat on rather than only leaned against.
Use it at the end of a sofa as a footrest with the winter throws inside, by the front door as a shoe changing stool, or at the foot of a bed for spare bedding. Everstock built it around the fact that most homes have one awkward corner needing seating and storage at once, with room for only one object. It lifts by its frame, so moving it full is a one-person job.
