Wooden ottoman bench in a Nordic rectangular form, built as a low seat for the point in a hallway or living room where shoes come on and off. It is a solid timber stool rather than an upholstered one, so it handles wet shoes, bags and daily traffic without a fabric to mark. At bench length it seats one comfortably and two at a push.
The frame is cherry wood, assembled as a frame structure rather than a solid slab, which keeps the weight down while the joints carry the load across the seat. At 45 x 39 x 46cm it lands at normal chair height rather than footstool height, so it works at a console table or a desk as well as by the door. The wood is finished plain, with no cushion to remove, clean or replace.
Put it by the front door as a shoe changing stool, at the end of a bed, or against a living room wall as a plant stand and occasional seat. Everstock chose cherry over a painted finish because timber takes a scuff and simply looks older rather than looking damaged. It needs light assembly on arrival, which is a few fixings rather than a flat-pack project.
